Doris Provencher Faucher Novels.

Those of you who are preparing a gift list may want to consider buying Doris Provencher Faucher’s Quebecois series of four books:
THE VIRGIN FOREST, THE RAPIDS, IMPERIAL CONFLICT, and IMPERIAL CONQUEST.  Artenay Press, publishers of
the series, donates $3.00 per book to the Saint Louis Alumni Scholastic Fund. These novels make for a wonderful gift for friends
and relatives of Franco-American ancestry, genealogy and history enthusiasts. To place an order, please go to the publishers web site:
www.artenaypress.com or call Norman R. Faucher (class of ‘51) at 207-282-2123. If using the order form on that web site, please
print the word "EAGLE" on the top left with the year you graduated, so that proper credit can be given to the Alumni Fund.

Another Book of Potential Interest to Alumni Members

With the recent closing of St. Andre's Church, another institution of the local Franco-American community has seen its
final days. In his book, "La Foi - La Langue - La Culture: The Franco-Americans of Biddeford, Maine" Michael Guignard,
class of 1965, traces the origins of that community and the sacrifices made by our ancestors in maintaining, churches,
schools, orphanages, a home for unwed mothers, a newspaper, theatrical groups, social clubs, mutual insurance companies,
and other associations in the Mill City.  Dr. Guignard's book will certainly bring back memories for anyone who was raised
in Biddeford's French ethnic milieu.

People can simply purchase the book directly from Michael by sending a check for $13 (which includes mailing) to:
Michael Guignard  5310 Glen Green Ct.   Alexandria,  VA  22315
Indicate that you heard about the book through the St. Louis Alumni Website and Michael will donate  $3 to the Alumni
Association for each book sold.
