Annual Meeting June 2011
The
Annual Meeting of the St. Louis Alumni Association was attended by forty one
members.
Nominated and elected to the Board of Directors for two year terms were: Ray
Roy,
Dick Tardif, Dick Dion, Marcel Martel, Guy Peloquin, and John Thibault.
Guy Farrell was elected to serve a three year term as Trustee.
The Treasurer, Marcel Roy, presented the Financial
Report for fiscal year 2010/2011.
Income from all sources was $33,760.29, with expenses totaling $32,777.52.
Net
ordinary income was $982.77. Marcel Roy on behalf of the Trustees
presented their
report for fiscal year 2010/2011. The total value of invested funds was
$341,621.53
as of June 2, 2011, an increase of $23,012.55.
It was noted that the 2010 Scholarships
were paid by transferring $3,500.00 from the Brother Richard Hebert
Scholarship Fund,
and using $4,000.00 in revenues from the 2010 Golf Tournament.
The chairman presented the names of the 2011 scholarship awardees. They include:
St. Louis Alumni Association Scholarships:
Samuel Green – Biddeford High School;
Preston Bowden – Biddeford High School;
Joshua Aube – Biddeford High School;
Mireille Beaudoin – Biddeford High School;
Kailey Fogg – Thornton Academy.
Brother Richard Hebert Memorial Scholarship: Nicholas Gagne — Biddeford High School.
Marcel Faucher Memorial Scholarship: Michael Vadnais – Biddeford High School.
Dennis Camire Memorial Football Scholarship: Josh Woodward – Thornton Academy.
St. Louis Alumni Association Golf Scholarship: Nicolas Laverriere – Biddeford High School.

St. Louis Alumni Golf Scramble
This
year’s golf scramble was another success, contributing
$4000 to our scholarship
fund. Thanks again
to the efforts of Mike Dion, Golf Committee chairman, and all his

Director member John Thibault is heading up the Community Relations and
is working on updating the Alumni’s history. This is a task that has not
been done since
1990. John’s purpose is to
increase participation of existing members and provide
activities to attract new members.

Thanks to the Website......I now have my 1967 St Louis Alumni class
ring.
Forty-two
years ago as a college student in New Hampshire, I lost my high school ring.
This past summer, a vacationer from NH noticed our new sign in front of the
Hall. It
occurred to him that the Eagles on the class ring, just might be the SL
Eagles. He
found our website and emailed the Hall describing a “Class of 67 ring
inscribed with
the initials R.E.A.R. “(no laughing, please).
Long story short, we
connected and after
all this time, thanks to the website, I
have my ring back. ~Ray
